Sipspresso Coffee Gin Launch

This brief proved to be one of the most complex, yet exciting briefs that I have had the pleasure of working on and I thoroughly enjoyed having the creative freedom to make this my own. With the launch of Sipsmith's next Sipping Series gin on the horizon, the brief asked for the outer packaging for Sipspresso Coffee Gin to be created which will be used for gifting to press and influencers. My initial research was based around premium tea and coffee packaging, focusing on the shapes of these boxes and the level of detailing, The original design that I proposed was based on creating a cylinder shaped box, however we found it rather difficult to find a company who could produce paper-over-board in this particular shape, using the paper I wanted to use.

During the research stage, I came across a paper created by G.F. Smith, Extract, which is a dynamic combination of chemistry and artistry that takes disposable paper coffee cups destined for landfill and transforms them into beautiful paper. I felt that this tied in well with the Sipspresso Coffee Gin story, and I also wanted to create a piece of packaging that was 100% recyclable.
